I’m a big fan of both Samsung’s The Frame TV, which looks like framed and matted artworkbut is actually an extremely high-tech TVandany and all tricks homeowners use to achieve a similar look, be it bybuilding their own frames, camouflaging TVs into gallery walls, and more.

This washi tape and spray paint method for making a TV look like framed artwork, by Christiana of@staylovelyshoppeon TikTok, is probably the most budget-friendly iteration I’ve seen so far. “I just usedwashi tape from Amazon,” Christiana says in her video. “I really, really wanted the look of a frame tv, so I gave myself one for like five bucks.”

@staylovelyshoppeListening to my pitch at the beginning is like getting lemon juice in my own eye. why is it so high?? But I refuse to re-record this voice over any more times. @XO, MaCenna | Home Decor & DIY#frametvhack # washitape # washitapetvframe #diyframetv # washitapediy ♬ Paper Birds (3 min) – Jordan Halpern Schwartz

Christiana taped gold washi tape the way around the plastic edge of her TV. If you have a mounted TV, voila! That’s it! You’re done! Your TV will better blend in with any other frames you have hanging on your walls.

If your TV, like Christiana’s, has a stand to which washi tape doesn’t seem to adhere, you can copy her spray paint trick. “The only thing I couldn’t washi tape was the base, which I popped off with like two screws and spray painted,” Christiana says, pointing out that she can spray paint the stand back to matte black if she changes her mind or decides to sell the TV. Easy enough! She used a matte gold to match her washi tape.

The real secret to Christiana’s high-end final look, though, in my opinion, is the digital artwork she chose to pair with her new gold frame. “I popped a little vintage art from YouTube on there,” she says. (Hers can be found inthis video, which plays one hour of vintage-looking florals for your framed tv.)
