Adam Rippon Is Moving In With His Boyfriend – Here’s Everything We Learned About His Future Home From IG
While winning the Olympic bronze medal in the figure skating team event in Pyeongchang this winter was probably Adam Rippon’s #BestWeekEver, no doubt this is a close second. America’s BFF and modern sweetheart just wonDancing With The Starsandannounced that he’s moving in with his new Finnish boyfriend,Jussi-Pekka Kajaala.
On Wednesday, after winningDWTS, Rippon and dance partner Jenna Johnson sat down backstage withPeople Nowand revealed not only their plans to celebrate with a double date for “a very long sit-down dinner, something relaxing”—but that Rippon’s Finnish boyfriend (whom he calls “JP”) is also planning a move to LA, and that Rippon can’t wait to cohabitate.
“He’s still in the process of moving out here. If there was a plan for him to move out here and move in immediately then I would tell you, but there’s not,”Rippon toldYahoo News later that same night. “But when he moves out here, we’ll move in together. I wish we could go faster!”
The couple met last October when Rippon was in Finland competing at the Grand Prix — his first competition in 10 months after breaking his foot.
“I was single and on Tinder, just sort of swiping left and right, and I remember the first message he sent me was super cheeky and funny and we started chatting a little bit,”Rippon also toldYahoo. “And I think because I knew we’re probably never going to meet that I really was talking to him pretty openly about a lot of things, and we got to know each other really well and were really honest with each other.”
But meet they did, and now the gorgeous, gushy crushes (andKajaala’s adorable French Bulldog, Princess Ratso) are taking their relationship to the next level, residentially — and very much looking forward to ending the long distance between them. Kajaala was already planning a move to LA, and the pair’s convos about SoCal living are something else that first connected them. Coming from the land of clean lines and Scandi design, Kajaala has shown an affinity for modern decor—but don’t count out a fixer-upper, either, if only forRippon to “supervise” the construction in his signature cheeky style, because Kajaala also works in real estate and might be down for a SoCal investment property. With candles, for“two scents”updates, naturally.

Both men regularly post from the beach and seaside piers, so being close to the water seems like something that brings them both joy.
