How To Properly Display The American Flag
Lots of patriotic people will be showing off their American flags this weekend so make sure to do it right! Here are the basics so you can brush up before the flag’s big day. Fly your flag from sunrise to sunset only, unless you light it, in which case you can display it 24/7. Don’t fly the flag in bad weather. Amanda’s Favorite Room
Name: Amanda Location: New York, New York This room is seriously my favorite of the whole apartment. I managed to make it sleek enough that I can have guests over for wine and cheese, yet comfortable enough for my husband to plop down on the couch and watch a game. I conquered this mission by : 1. Sticking with a neutral color palette of grays and whites 2. Choosing sleek and simple furniture – like white Barcelona chairs and a chrome legged coffee table 3.

I just purchased a new rug for our hallway and am pleased as punch with it. It’s a runner from Colonial Mills’ Shear Natural collection. The entire collection is woven of undyed wool fibers, meaning that every colorway happens to be the colorway of a sheep! From creamy whites to warm brownish grays to black, there’s beautiful variety in undyed wool.

Before & After: All White Kitchen Gets a Subtle Kick
Kristi recently remodeled her kitchen and didn’t give her toe kicks a second glance. Then she got a glimpse of Oh Joy’s recently remodeled studio kitchen, and was inspired to try something new… Switching up the white to black is a subtle but significant change. Rather than painting the actual toe kicks again, Kristi came up with a temporary solution that lets her try out a color, and change it up again down the road. Renters, take note!
