When Swedish non-profit organizationTurning Tablesrealized they had outgrown their repurposed storagecontainer-turned-music studio, help arrived in the form of creative agencySNASK, which purchased an old caravan with the purpose of revamping the vehicle into a mobile studio.

Turning Tables got its start in New York, where founder DJ Martin Jakobsen fulfilled the organization’s mission of encouraging marginalized youth to express themselves through film and music projects. Jakobsen eventually expanded his team and his reach, opting to go global and embark upon a tour of Sweden. But when the heavy equipment and hefty travel expenses stifled the organization’s ability to reach more kids, SNASK signed on to assist with bringing the idea of a mobile studio to life.

SNASK and Turning Tables’ head of construction Stellan von Reybekiel, tackled the project by installing an entirely new floor in the caravan, replacing the wood structure and removing and disposing of moldy contents. Then came one of the project’s most memorable design elements: a distinctive pink fur interior that helps with the acoustics and is honestly just a lot of fun to look at. Also, it achieves the feat of helping the music studio look less like a workplace and more like a chill hangout spot.

The comfy work area is sufficiently equipped with every tool its occupants need to make beautiful music: a desk, table lamp, laptop, microphone and production equipment. There are also sitting benches, accentuated with bright yellow pillows. The studio’s exterior holds its own against the pizazz of the pink interior, thanks to its uplifting, bright artwork by Enrike Puerto, Fabrizio Morra and Rasumus Linderos, which as SNASK notes, effectively “turns tables and heads.”
