When Tiffany found this chair she was immediately in love. What she didn’t love was the scratchy, ripped fabric covering it. As we all know, DIY upholstery projects can be daunting so Tiffany decided to leave the recovering to the professionals. To the auto body professionals, that is.

Upon the recommendation from a friend, Tiffany, from the blogLiving Green with Glamour, decided to take her old chair to a local auto repair shop to have it reupholstered. With fabric in hand, she dropped off the chair, unsure of what she would get back. What she got was a fabulous new chair, reupholstered at a fraction of the cost of a regular upholsterer.

Of course, the auto shop didn’t have all the charm of a regular upholstery shop. Tiffany did have to supply her own fabric and she probably didn’t get much feedback from the wrench wielding mechanic behind the counter. In forgoing the creature comforts of a quaint upholstery shop, however, Tiffany was able to revive this chair at on a budget. And the next time she needs work done on her car, she already knows a mechanic!
