With a new baby on the way and no budget to completely gut and remodel this bathroom, Laurie decided to roll up her sleeves and get creative, only using paint, fabric and accessories to make the space look more finished and fabulous.

I decided to make do with what I already had and come up with a solution. First that had to go was the blue cabinets that look better in the photo because in real life they were so bad. The counter tops are fake marble and not my favorite and the trim in the bathroom is off-white. In order to blend everything I chose a gray paint with a tan undertone. The gray pulled out the veining in the marble and the tan undertones complemented the trim. I painted the cabinets black and added brass knobs I purchased on clearance from Menards.

The mirrors were purchased at Hobby Lobby on sale and then because these were the only two left and had some scratches I negotiated a better deal on them and simply touched up the mirrors with a black marker. The lighting is actual outdoor lighting. I added industrial hooks that were cheaper then hardware hooks to hang the towels. Instead of using a bath rug I elected to use just a regular rug. I think it makes the room more cozy and I also added a chair. I didn’t tear anything in the bathroom out except the lighting and the builder grade mirror and only used paint, fabric and accessories to make the space look more finished.
