Danielle’s Good Look’n Live/Work Loft
Name:Danielle ofGood Look’n
Location:West Midtown; Atlanta, GA
Size:900 square feet
Years lived in:5 Months
Moving from Boston just four months ago, Danielle has just recently settled into her industrial style loft. She hasn’t let that stop her from creating a space that is all her own. After all, she also has made a business out of making things look, well, good!
She started her events and styling company,Good Look’n, about a year ago after working 12 years in the interior design world. Danielle already has her hands full in a new city where the demographic is young and the community is inspiring, but she was kind enough to welcome me into her home for a glimpse into her design environment and a story or two.
Apartment Therapy Survey:
My Style:Oh, let’s see here… vintage, natural, well-lovedlaughs …well-used. I guess I’d say, cozy, eclectic, and vintage.
Inspiration:My home in Maine. The landscape is filled with these moody tones of greys and blues. I draw inspiration from the ocean, the rocks… all of the natural elements.
Favorite Element:The windows! The view is beautiful. Waking up in here every morning is a good thing. It’s just such a good vibe.
Biggest Challenge:The open space. Creating divisions and breaks for the eye, but also maintaining togetherness, coordination, and flow.
What Friends Say:I think they say that it’s comfortable. I think they appreciate it. Everyone seems to enjoy themselves here.
Biggest Embarrassment:
我们都拉ugh, and look at Nala, Danielle’s shar-pei.Dog hair! I’m sweeping constantly. Also, the floors. The paint’s always peeling. It seems whoever painted the floors didn’t paint them right.
Proudest DIY:At the moment, I think it’s my macramé/crochet style wall hanging. I’m really in love with it. But, I’m constantly doing little projects.
Biggest Indulgence:Honestly, the plants. All the maintenance and supplies, it all adds up! But, I had to have plants in here. They add so much. Everything else I’ve kind of collected over time.
Best Advice:Create a space that’s unique to you. If you love the things that you fill your space with, you create a home that has meaning and a story.
Dream Sources:The Brimfield flea market in Massachusetts. It’s huge! I would love an original Danish modern Borge Morgensen leather sofa. I’ve wanted one for years. Thrift stores, antique stores, and Etsy are my typical go-to’s. But, I’d love to fill my space with textiles from Africa, India… and some Turkish rugs!
