DeKor & Cois one of Ojai’s newest (and most fabulous) retail stores. Situated in the downtown corridor, it has an amazing vaulted ceilinged space full of vintage and modern furniture and small goodies for the home. Owners Isabelle Dahlin and Rachel Marlowe have gathered the perfect mix of Swedish and American gifts and decorations for the home. They also offer FACE by Stockholm cosmetics and have a beautiful tea bar for fresh beverages.

Inspiration for opening:We have always loved Ojai – the beautiful setting hidden in the magical Topa Topa mountains and the super-laid back vibe make it So-Cal’s very own Shangri La – and we had been dreaming of doing something in order to spend more time there.

One weekend we were hanging out at The Ojai Vineyard Tasting Room drinking wine, when we saw this amazing space next door – a 2000 square foot former art gallery – had become available for rent.

It was a split second decision – we would open a lifestyle store full of everything you would need so you would never have to leave Ojai – vintage furniture, home accessories, ceramics, art, linens, the best skincare and makeup, fabulous silk caftans to wear by the pool, Swedish clogs for gardening.…We signed the lease a few weeks later and were open within a few months.

Merchandise source:In line with our backgrounds – Dahlin is Swedish, Marlowe grew up in England – the merchandise is a mix of Californian and European pieces. The beauty and wellness brands are largely Californian lines; FACE Stockholm is a cult Swedish cosmetics line; the furniture and home accessories are sourced from from Scandinavia, the UK and California; clothing and accessories from the UK and Sweden; and art is a mix of local artists (we have an artist in residence program that switches out every few months) and Swedish pieces.

Rachel – the Tea Bar. We teamed up with Art of Tea, an amazing company based in LA that sources the best organic and botanical blends. There is nothing a cup of tea can’t fix!
