High Impact Decorating with Multiple Matching Mirrors

When it comes to room makeovers, there are two things that never fail in dramatic transformations: paint — of course! — and mirrors. We’ve seen oversize mirrors,layered mirrors, mirrored walls, unusual mirror uses and just about everything in between. But today it’s time to talk about one of the simplest mirror concepts with perhaps the highest impact of all: multiple matching mirrors.

• 1-2.I know I’m not the only one who swooned over Lisa Bruce’s Moroccan home when Kristen sharedElle Decor‘s feature with us. The colors were lovely, but the mirrors were the show-stopper. Since then, I’ve hardly been able to look at mirrors in the same way.

• 3.Multiple matching mirrors take on a window-like effect, especially when hung grid style. The first time I saw this picture of Amy Beth Cupp Dragoo of ABCD Design’s loft it took me a few seconds to realize that the wall of mirrors wasnotan enviable giant window.

• 4. Tom Scheerer created a sculptural mirror wall headboard for client Naeem Khan. The various depths create interest while the same size dimensions keep the installation from feeling too overwhelming.

• 5.Decorating with multiple matching mirrors is not usually a budget solution, unless we’re talking IKEA’s Malma mirrors. A few years ago, Apartment Therapy reader Jen made waves around the blogosphere with her Malma mirror headboard.
