Inspiration:My college friend Kyle DeWoody’s style, the immaculate setup of my upstairs neighbor Dan’s apartment (who has the same layout as me)

Biggest Challenge:How to organize a studio to live in a small space without making it cluttered.

What Friends Say:“It’s cozy.” My apartment isn’t really a blockbuster to people who walk in — my bed is the first thing you see when you enter, and there isn’t a lot of natural light.

Biggest Embarrassment:The kitchen and bathroom were done when I first moved in and was 26. I didn’t know how to manage a construction job there, and I think I could have done a better job checking the work.

Proudest DIY:Taking charge of my most recent update, this past spring getting help from my design friends especially my neighbor Chase Booth who works at Meyer Davis. We picked out the paint and floor colors. My friend Darcy Budworth, a designer at Soulcycle, turned me onto Schoolhouse Electric. I got an old chest from my godfather and replaced the hardware, and got the matching light fixture.

Best Advice:Get feedback from people whose taste you admire. Sometimes people see your space more objectively, and they give you ideas that are ingenious but you would have never thought of yourself.
