公寓Therapy Survey:

Our Style:Cloudland Living Style: I believe that a home should be the ultimate happy place. An inspiring safe and secure space in the world where you can be creative and vulnerable. Cloudland Living is the idea that everyone can create this little piece of heaven in their own lives.

Inspiration:Spring is my favorite season; it’s all about new beginnings and cheerful colors. I love how everything is pastel, happy and in bloom…I wanted my home to feel like springtime all year round.

Favorite Element:The splatter wall rainbow mural is definitely my favorite element. My husband and I painted it ourselves. We started out just intending to paint the the 20 foot x 12 foot wall with gradient rainbow colors. We used 19 different shades of Dun Edwards paint.

After a grueling day of work and finally completing the rainbow wall I was really unhappy with the outcome so I decided to splatter the remaining paint all over the wall. The result was so much better than I ever imagined and I had so much fun painting it

Biggest Challenge:Knowing when to stop doing new projects. My home is like a living art installation and an ever evolving expression of creativity. But sometimes it’s good to take a step back and appreciate the home that we’ve created.

What Friends Say:Friends are amazed and can’t believe we live in such a colorful place. They say it inspires them and makes them happy even if it’s not exactly what they would do.

Biggest Embarrassment:我的衣柜和橱柜都不如我组织like them to be.

Proudest DIY:Splatter wall. Originally born from a mistake. Amina knew she wanted a very strong rainbow statement somewhere in her home, so she, Salvatore, and her friend painted one on her wall. Only the feature ended up looking like stripes instead of the big, beautiful rainbow she hoped for.

“I said ‘Sorry guys, I hate this. I’m going to throw some paint on it.'” So she used the leftover paint to splatter the wall and create the rainbow statement she dreamed of having. Although the flower wall is what people love the most about her home, she said she feels the best when she looks at her mistake-turned-masterpiece.

Biggest Indulgence:Flower wall: The flower wall is one of my favorite DIY projects. It’s something I’ve seen at many events and weddings and always wanted one in my home. I created it using over 1200 silk flowers and a LOT of glue. It’s a total dream come true.

Best Advice:Think outside the box and ignore conventional interior design advice to create something that is perfect for you. Also, hang more things from the ceiling, it’s life changing!
