Evernote是改变生活。我是一个快乐的用户for years now (this isn’t an ad, just the ramblings of an enthusiastic evangelist) and I seriously can’t remember how I functioned without it before. There are so many different ways you can use it to streamline and simplify your life. You can take notes, write to do lists, attach photos, record voice memos, scan papers, set reminders, save articles—the list goes on. Here, I’m sharing my nine favorite ways to use it to keep my entire life uber-organized.

I Keep a Master To-Do List

Although I still love to write my daily to do list on paper, Evernote is where I keep my master task list, which includes literally everything I need to get done whether it’s work-related or personal things like errands I need to run. This list is so essential to my productivity. I would be lost without it.

I Create a Packing List Before a Trip

If you’re someone who travels a lot, having a packing list handy will make your life so much easier. Not only will it make the packing process more efficient, it’ll also prevent you from forgetting things.

I Keep a List of Long-Term Goals

This is a fun one! I love keeping a list of all of my big goals for the year as well as a list of all the really random, fun, bucket-list things I’d like to do one day like going horseback riding on the beach or doing yoga on a helipad. You can also attach photos to turn it into a digital vision board.

I Use it to Scan Important Papers

If you’re into the whole minimalist movement, you’ll love this feature for maintaining a paperless lifestyle. Evernote’s scanning appScannablelets you snap a picture of any important document, receipt, or business card and save it directly to Evernote. Easy peasy.

I Use my Evernote Email to Subscribe to Newsletters

If you subscribe to tons of newsletters with your primary email address—and have the cluttered inbox to prove it—I highly suggest using your Evernote email address for this instead of a personal or work email (you can find your Evernote address under account info). This way you don’t get distracted throughout the day with email notifications and they’ll be easy for you to access and read whenever you do have some downtime.

I’ll Clip Web Pages to Read Later

Speaking of saving things for later, Evernote’s Web Clipper is so handy for storing articles, bookmarking items, or saving any other web page. You can also tag things so it’s easier to find them later.

I Make Digital Post-It Notes

The Evernote Helper is my absolute favorite feature (activate it under preferences). It’s completely eliminated my need for Post-It notes, which I always seem to lose. Any time a random thought, idea, or task pops into my head while I’m working on the computer, I can just quickly click on the elephant icon in the menu bar and save the note without having to close or open any windows or interrupt whatever I’m working on. It’s amazing.

I Pick My Meals from a Master List of Favorite Recipes

Once a week, I like to plan out my meals for the next few days. Half the battle is just thinking of what to make and having a list of all my favorite meals on hand makes the process way easier. If it’s a new recipe I learned from a blog post or a YouTube video, I can just embed the link and it’ll be easy to reference when I want to make the dish again.

I Keep a Running Grocery List

Instead of writing a grocery list before I head out the door, it’s much easier to add things to my list as I use things up or see that they are running low. I love using the little check boxes for this one because I can just pull up the list on my phone while I’m at the store and tick things off as I put them in my cart. It’s weirdly satisfying.
