Here at Apartment Therapy this month we have been talking about moving and first apartments. We recently discovered a fantastic resource—a blog devoted to “the lost art of being a man,” with an article all about how to find your first apartment. In the article, “How To Find Your First Apartment,” by Shane Belin, the author tackles the issues of budgeting, searching for an apartment, and roommates–all from a male-centric perspective. We think that most of the advice given transcends gender, and it is a good starting point for anyone venturing out on their own for the first time!

We then explored the rest of this blog, and while we, ourselves, are not male, we love the tone and perspective of this site! It is not just about being “manly,” but very much about preserving the characteristics of a gentleman. As a lady, we feel that we ought not complain too much about guys aspiring to be as gentlemanly as possible! Topics such asHow to Make a Moleskine PDAandHow to Build Sturdy Basement Shelvesgive some handy projects for the modern man, while articles likeThe Art of Letter Writing and Stationeryfocus on some of the more genteel and romantic aspects of gentlemanliness. And then you have the amusing hyper-manly topics likeThe Ultimate Push-Up GuideandCommand a Room Like A Man.

In all we really enjoyed poking around this blog and think that it has a lot of practical applications for the modern gentleman. Heck, we found a lot of useful information for the gentlewoman, as well!
