If youarelucky enough to have your own entrance, my all means, dress it up! Add a welcome mat and some plant stands outside. You’d be surprised what a well-dressed side door will do to make your share of the house feel like home.

Mini Fridge

Skip the dorm-issue fridge and invest in a grown-up model you can re-use in a home bar later in life.

Place a closed-off cabinet next to the beverage cooler and you’ve got yourself a serviceable little kitchen for snacks and small meals.
