If you subscribe to the motto, “Life is way too short to have boring walls,” we have some good news. The folks over at MuralsWallpaper have left us no choice but to abide by that non-negotiable design mantra. With the release of its HenriMatisse-inspired Naïve Shapes wallpaper collection, art lovers and bland wall owners alike can now ensure that their partitions easily live up to their full creative capacity.

The influence of Matisse’s signature cutout artwork (also known aspapiers découpés) comes through quite clearly in the line of earth-toned, patterned wall coverings. The launch of the Naïve Shapes collection celebrates the 150th birthday of the renowned French artist, who is famously credited for pioneering Fauvism, a revolutionary artistic style characterized by the use of bold colors to evoke strong emotion. According to MuralsWallpaper, the collection is “livable, plays on current color and design trends, and reflects the simplicity and joyous emotion of Matisse’s own work.”

Among the available handmade designs are theMatisse Blue, a series of blue and neutral abstract shapes sophisticated enough to decorate your living or dining area, but also playful enough to adorn a child’s room. Then there’s theWeimar, a decidedly bolder look comprised of layered geometric shapes, available in four colors. To give your space a more free-spirited vibe, theScrawlis a perfect choice. The stunning in-house design features a wandering black line set against a beige backdrop, making it one of the more fresh options.

The wallpaper starts at $3.25 per square feet, and the company ships worldwide. If for some reason, you happen to miss out on the current Matisse collection, MuralsWallpaper also has plans to release a second set of designs in December.
