This unique home was designed by Gigaplex Architects for a single person living in Woodland, Utah. The home is constructed of two linked corrugated-metal grain silos making for some great circular interior space.

Measuring in at 1,800 square feet for one person, theSilo Housedoesn’t exactly start green. But it does have some cool green features:

  • The southern exposure maximizes natural daylight and solar heat gain during the cold winter months
  • An electric mesh is installed into the lower flower to heat the house along with a propane-burning stove for backup.
  • The metal grating on the second story deck provides shade from the summer sun.
  • The exterior metal should be fully recyclable.
