Nina’s Little House Nursery

When I first came across this South African nursery, I was dying to know who made the adorable little house bed. I was certainly very surprised to learn that the bed is actually going to become a crib and is a DIY project created by Nina James’ talented parents! It’s definitely the focal point of this unique, modern nursery, but the rest of the space is full of wonderful little surprises as well.

How would you describe the look and feel of this room?
Our house is full of art and objects and things that we like, so we wanted our baby’s room to have the same feel whilst still keeping it graphic and fun. We wanted Nina James to have lots of things to look at when she’s in there.

What is your favorite piece or element?
It has to be thehouse cribthat my husband Shane build from scratch! It’s missing its bars for now (still waiting for them), but it shows you how when she’s bigger it can convert into a toddler’s bed or couch.

What was the biggest challenge decorating this room?
Not adding more stuff to it.

What do your friends say about the room?
So far everyone has loved it. A lot of them want Shane to go their houses to build stuff for them too.

Do you have any advice for parents creating a room for their child?
I would say just have fun with it and try to fill it with things that you think will make your kid happy one day.

If money were no object, what’s your dream source?
I would love aRosaline Rockerby Bunny & Clyde!
