In January, Apartment Therapy rolled out our secondPattern of the Year: Freely Scribbled。Inspired by the abstract shapes we’ve been noticing in fashion, art, and design recently, the pattern represents “geometric purity, minus the mathematical rigor and order—less Escher and more Matisse or Masson.” We asked Danish artist Rebecca Frederiksen ofCapricorn Studioto design our interpretation of the print, with three different background colors to showcase the “scribbles” in a variety of styles.
