Name:Samantha and Brendan Binger; 3 dogs (Archie, Max, Luna), and 2 cats (Anna and Elsa)
Location:Anywhere we park
大小:304 square feet
Years lived in:1.5 years, owned

“When we first had the idea to hit the road in a motorhome, we saw our home as a means to an end,” confesses Samantha Binger, who along with her husband and their five pets travel around the country in their2007 Fleetwood Bounder 35E. “Our thought was that we would suffer through living in this tiny space in order to travel to incredible places and see the US. However, we realized within a few weeks that we actually love the tiny living aspect that goes along with the RV lifestyle. We have less space and fewer possessions to worry about, and we are free to spend our time exploring other interests. Plus, the feeling of being able to take our home pretty much everywhere is really special.” Samantha and Brendan share their adventures on their website and their Instagram under the nameLife Among Pines.

“Since we customized everything in our home, we love it even more now. My favorite part is all the windows (11 total), from which we can look out and see all sorts of amazing views. When we are in the RV, we spend our time working, reading, cooking, and planning for our next adventure. So far, we have taken our home all up and down the West Coast and throughout the American Southwest, with many more exciting plans for the upcoming summer.”

Apartment Therapy Survey:

Our Style:Lively, clean, soothing, modern.

Inspiration:Travel themes, whimsical, beachy homes, jungalow style (we love plants!), open floor plan tiny homes.

Favorite Element:My favorite element of our home is the general seating area in the cab of the RV. A lot of people with motorhomes consider the front portion “the car” and keep it separate from the rest of the space. For us, it made the most sense to include it in our space, so, when we are parked, we swivel the captain’s chairs for extra seating. We also added a window seat to the dashboard that we and the pets all enjoy.

Biggest Challenge:Although our home is small, our biggest challenge is keeping it clean. I’m a bit of neat freak, and I like things to be tidy at all times. Between our pets and the environments we are often parked in (hello, dusty desert), we have to stay on top the cleaning to keep our home looking nice.

Proudest DIY:Our built-in bookshelf! We initially had a standard, three-tiered bookshelf next to our door, but we recently decided to kick things up a notch and add a built-in bookshelf. To achieve this, we removed a large bank of cabinets that stretched above the couch and dinette, then built the shelves and filled them with our favorite books, plants, and other decor collected throughout our travels. We couldn’t be happier with the results.

Biggest Indulgence:All of our plants! We’ve been slowly collecting them over the course of a few years, and caring for them on the road isn’t the easiest. We make it work because we are obsessed!

Best Advice:If you are wanting to live the RV lifestyle, don’t be discouraged by the dated interiors often found in motorhomes. Anything can be customized to your liking, which, in turn, allows the RV to feel like home.
