The bottom floor ofArianna‘s split-level home was “unused and abused,” she says. “It was filled with old furniture and stuff that we no longer used or had a place for.” The dark brick fireplace was dated and the sponge-painted walls needed plenty of love. Overall, the room was dark, depressing, and in serious need of a makeover.

Arianna took her inspiration from the past, including ’70s and ’80s-style touches. But don’t you dare call this space retro: Blush pink paint covers the walls and fireplace, giving the room a modern vibe.

The renovation took about six months. Arianna added molding around the wall-to-wall fireplace, and her husband built the slatted divider wall behind the couch from scratch, which took about a month.

This space thrives on the details. A ruby rug continues the rosy theme, and the funky, curvaceous side chairs feature a faint floral pattern that seriously amps up the vintage vibe. Every detail is perfect, from the black paper globes hanging in the corner to thewhite sectional from Joybird.

“It’s perfect,” Arianna says. “It is such an amazing space to hang out with our friends and have a couple of drinks or just for my husband and I after the kids go to bed.”

Thanks for sharing, Arianna!
