The news in London this Fall has been all about the launch of J.Crew, but for those who prefer to shop for their home rather than their closet, another exciting shop has come across the pond! West Elm just launched a brand new store on Tottenham Court Road, the main drag for super sized furniture stores.

The highly anticipated hip branch of the Williams-Sonoma group opened last Thursday. I had the chance to meet with the store’s creative director Vanessa Holden for an inside scoop on what the London branch of West Elm is all about.

Despite having over 12,000 square feet of space, the store has a cozy, local feel, which starts with their Market area, featuring a coffee bar and products that are sourced locally in the UK. Another highlight that makes this store a standout from other West Elm shops is a gallery wall with local art from Etsy.

Aside from the usual furniture, bedding, and accessory offerings, this shop places a heavy emphasis on the Design Lab and creating your own style. This store understands that everyone has their own style and own pieces that they love in their home, so selling a “room set” isn’t the West Elm mission.
