Earlier this year, HGTV starLeanne Forddebuted her firstfurniture and accessories collection with Crate & Barrel, and the pieces were exactly what you’d hope for from the Pittsburgh native—minimal but warm, neutral in color, and full of natural textures. Well, that’s exactly the same approach that she took for her latest launches out today: a baby and kids’ line forCrate & Kidsand a tabletop extension forCrate & Barrel. The 28-item tabletop assortment, featuring ceramics inspired by a trip to Portugal, glassware from Turkey, and striped textiles from India, all have a beautiful hand-hewn look to them and the kind of shapes that will add visual interest to any meal. That being said, I was truly impressed with her offerings for the little ones—so much so that I’d decorate an adult space with just about any of the pieces!

Ford somehow found a way to make her signature black-and-white palette feel whimsical enough for kids, but sophisticated enough for a modern living room, should you live in a small space and need these items to pull double duty—or one day want to repurpose them entirely. “The rocker is cool enough to live in the middle of the living room,” Ford said in a Zoom press preview of the collection. “The play table could easily be used as a side table in a New York City apartment, or you could use it as a high coffee table—I’m all about layering smaller coffee tables right now.”

福特的女儿,曾经,现在18 months, served as inspiration for the collection as well as her own love of music. A guitar-shaped rug and a rocking motorcycle toy subtly reference rock ‘n’ roll, while caned wood furniture and bouclé upholstered pieces add an undeniably trendy touch to the assortment. An Alexander Calder-esque black hanging mobile and black metal mirror, both featuring Ford’s own heart doodles, round out the decorative touches. Those that appreciated the curvy silhouettes in Ford’s first collection will be happy to know that the arch motif is coming back in the form of open shelving units and children-sized canopy beds that look strikingly similar tolast launch’s pièce de résistance,Canyon Canopy Bed. Ford herself said she plans on using these new beds in the black colorway for her guest room.

If you’re searching for something soothing for your home, you won’t be disappointed in this collection, which features more than 60 items total with prices starting at just $16. Even if you or your kids love color, every room can always benefit from a bit of black for contrast, drama, and according to Ford, a little bit of rock ‘n’ roll.
