Leanne Ford’s New Crate & Barrel Collection Will Make You Want Nursery Furniture in Your Living Room
Earlier this year, HGTV starLeanne Forddebuted her firstfurniture and accessories collection with Crate & Barrel, and the pieces were exactly what you’d hope for from the Pittsburgh native—minimal but warm, neutral in color, and full of natural textures. Well, that’s exactly the same approach that she took for her latest launches out today: a baby and kids’ line forCrate & Kidsand a tabletop extension forCrate & Barrel. The 28-item tabletop assortment, featuring ceramics inspired by a trip to Portugal, glassware from Turkey, and striped textiles from India, all have a beautiful hand-hewn look to them and the kind of shapes that will add visual interest to any meal. Ford somehow found a way to make her signature black-and-white palette feel whimsical enough for kids, but sophisticated enough for a modern living room, should you live in a small space and need these items to pull double duty—or one day want to repurpose them entirely. “The rocker is cool enough to live in the middle of the living room,” Ford said in a Zoom press preview of the collection. “The play table could easily be used as a side table in a New York City apartment, or you could use it as a high coffee table—I’m all about layering smaller coffee tables right now.”
