Take a peek into Rafael’s darling little sanctuary where he spends countless winks! Sofia, his mother, did an excellent job using muted and natural colors with a pop of blue and delicate touches around the room. She took time choosing items that were personal (including vintage pieces that her husband used growing up) and practical. Ultimately it was important to create a a relaxing space that was cute and functional and wouldn’t take a lot of funds to pull off. Well done!

How would you describe the look and feel of this room?

Simple with clean lines and a light finish. We wanted the room to look more like a traditional nursery, bright and “easy”.

What is your favorite piece or element?

The HAY stars, the antique book holder, and the white wooden hanger are all beautiful pieces.

What was the biggest challenge decorating this room?

The size; although a baby does not need a lot of space it was challenging trying not to overwhelm the space with too much furniture and accessories.

What do your friends say about the room?

They love it! They like the way the natural light comes out through the curtains, and they always point out the red “mon oncle” poster frame.

Do you have any advice for parents creating a room for their child?

Try not to allow pattern to overrun the space and use simple furniture.

If money were no object, what’s your dream source?

Money is an issue, but I can’t think of anything that would cost more and I would like to have. Maybe a custom-made closet, but we will keep that for the toddler room.
